I've always been a Daiwa man when it comes to spinning reals. Still fishing with a couple dozen or so Daiwa Silver Series 2600c, 4000c, 7000c and Gold Series GS-20, GS 30, GS-6, and GS-9 reels for the past 40 years. I am also using newer Daiwa Black Gold BG-20, BG-30, and BG-60 reels as well. I would recommend the Daiwa Black Gold BG-30 for a casting metal 3/4-3 ounce lures and the BG-60 for general bottom fishing. If you need a winch like reel for big drum and such, the BG-90 fills the notch perfectly. Price range from about $85-$110. With a little routine maintenance and care, you will get years and maybe decades of use out of them.
