for what it's worth...i got an email from recreation.gov to "rate your stay"...be careful what you wish for!
PLEASE,PLEASE,PLEASE...MAINTAIN THE CABINS!!!! When we arrived we had 2 blown out screens on the porch...(which were fixed after we had to track down a volunteer-who was great!)...cabin was basically uncleaned from the group before-had two holes drilled in the kitchen floor which was good for the noseeums to come through! Kitchen sink leaked like a sieve...watched a raccoon on several occasions come out of the roof on cabin 24...though a HUGE HOLE IN THE ROOF! The 'caretakers office' was CLOSED on tuesday!!!??? Love the old Park Service sign which states "Leave the Cabin in the same condition you received it" HA!
what the heck is going on here!!!???When the cabins were privately run you WOULD NEVER have these issues!! What is the park service doing with all the revenue collected by the people staying in the cabins???!! obviously not putting it back in the facilities! Please hire a full time maintenance person and overnight caretaker...NOT ANOTHER LAW ENFORCEMENT RANGER!
