I have come up with a system that works pretty well. First, the best cooler for the money hands down is this Coleman line:

Go to Lowes or a hardware store and get some rubber weather stripping with the sticky backing found here: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Frost-King-10-ft-White-Rubber-Foam-Window-Weatherstrip/1009791
Stick it to the lid side.
Get a set of rubber T-handles like these:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002I05T9M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Get some heavy duty dry wall anchors like these: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Cobra-50-Pack-1-875-in-x-0-25-in-Standard-Drywall-Anchors/3382152
Make sure that you dont get an anchor that is longer than the thickness of your cooler wall. Pre-drill the hole stated on the drywall anchor instructions and mount the T-handles into the anchors. I opted to get some stainless steel screws to avoid rust.
I use a 70qt for bait, and a 120qt for base-camp. My bait cooler that was opened and closed non-stop for 4 days in the heat, originally has 3 bags of ice. I got home and a total of 7 days and that cooler still had ice and a few coors light cans with blue mountains. I had a few roto-molded coolers and those expensive things didnt hold ice as long as this setup. Tight lines!
