another thing that will help any cooler is to cover the seam with walkin cooler / freezer plastic.. Get a strip of this and attach it to the lid so that it fits over the lower part of the cooler, it will stop wind and rain from going into the cooler. I used E-6000 glue and stainless steel screws to attach mine.
