a good circle hook, I like Eagle Claw hooks, with a circle hook and a drum you don't set the hook, he will do it for you. just use a good strong sand spike and normal fighting drag settings. Depending on how big the drum are, something between and 8/0 and 12/0 size. and a short leader, only 10" or less from hook to sinker. imo
