80 pound mono, moss green or smoke grey. FSU did a study finding those two are the best AFTER Fluorocarbon, but fluoro cost too much and very stiff.
With hooks I have gone to a smaller circle, reason those big ole sharks and rays will straighten the hooks with a 5/0, 6/0 circle and I don't have to mess with them!!!! I've caught multiple 40 incher drum with 5/0,6/0 circles.
