The setup is similar to a turbo diesel engines that are in the 3/4 and ton trucks that you see all over the beach. There is an intercooler that sits down in the large opening in the middle of the bumper. It's there to cool intake air but the actual intake is up high in a similar location to the non-ecoboost engine. Low rpm lugging can cause high egt temperatures in a turbo diesel but not as much in a turbo gas engine. I have probably around 70 beach miles and the only problem I ever have is when the engine cuts back on power because I forget to turn off traction control. Low tire pressure and you'll be good.
