you are a good man, thank you for helping our youth experience one of the best beaches in the US.
Down near the end of the back road going to the point there are flush toilets and just over the dunes on the east side of the island there is an old picnic shelter that has partially collapsed but will still make a great base camp for your gang. Hopefully that stretch of beach will be open when you are there. Catching shrimp, Probably not going to happen. Crabs maybe but I won't count on that either. But here's all you need to know to catch some fish. Use small pieces of fresh shrimp and sand fleas which you can dig on the beach. Use light rods with 2-3 ounce sinkers and small double hook bottom rigs with #2 & 4 hooks. You don't have to cast far, plenty of fish within 30 yards of the beach. Take plenty of bugs spray and sunscreen and have fun.
