Yes Sir,
They were there in surf Sunday morning.
It seems about time the drum ween off Cobia seem to appear???
Use your bigger drum rigs and fish FRESH chunk, live pin, or heard of but never used is eels.
I keep a Penn 980 mag loaded w/ 25lb Stren on the heaver. 8 & bait same as drum fishin. Don't spike fish, man your rod - and be ready!
I keep a 6500 w/ 17lb. Stren main, 50 shock, bout 18" 80lb leader on 11' 3-8oz. and keep 2oz. bucktail or 3oz Krockadile spoon. This was undersized rig for that 60lb fish! I was looking more drag , She had that 17 at its peak and I could not turn her she went straight out the cut and in a heartbeat the main line was cutting across shoal and snapped!!
I did couple years back in Ocracoke bout May, landed a 74lb Cobia from the surf on Jigmaster 30lb Ande w/ live pinfish.
I'm a transplant from Florida and thats a go to set up when surf fishin for Cobia, Tarpon, or Snook fishin.
Check at the docks, lot boats workin shoals, shark island.
Be ready. Powerful Powerful fish! Use the beach and walk him out. But remember sharks will take your trophy too.
Cobia great eating.
Just had some Spanish!, didn't even make it inside! Straight off the grill - with cold Natti !

Aint gonna be able to make it this weekend.
Good luck.
