Update to Members and/or Tournament Entrants,

Tournament Check-In (Thursday, 10/11):
There will be an abbreviated check-in at cabin 16 due to the weather; a quick in-person registration at cabin 16 where you'll also be given your hat and an opportunity to purchase $5 generator raffle tickets and 1 of 108 poker cards ($10 each) for a 60 quart Grizzly cooler. There will NOT be an opening ceremony or BOD/Guest speakers or merchandise sales, etc. on Thursday. Tournament Shirts will NOT be distributed Thursday, they will be distributed on Saturday.

Per the rules, in-person check-in is required between 10am until 12pm eastern time on Thursday, 10/11/2018 at cabin 16 to participate in the tournament!! Due to the weather circumstances if you are unable to check-in at cabin 16 in-person you MUST notify Rich Lambert PRIOR to 12pm eastern Thursday, 10/10. If you're arriving on the island after the tournament commences (e.g. Friday) then you will be permitted to participate only if you provided notification prior to noon Thursday, 10/11. Call or Text Rich Lambert at 803-517-7343 prior to 12pm noon on Thursday 10/11 if you can't check-in at cabin 16. If you DO NOT check-in or provide the required notification by noon and you attempt to weigh-in fish you will be disqualified.

Tournament Weigh-In (Saturday):
On Saturday we anticipate normal operations for fish weigh-ins starting at 10am, tournament shirt distribution to all particapates, hat distribution to late arrivers, continued sales of $5 generator raffle tickets and 60 quart Grizzly cooler poker cards for $10. Also available Saturday will be $1 raffles, silent bid auction, and general merchandise sales.

Tournament Lunch (Saturday):
White Swan will cater lunch on Saturday as normal! Catering will be based on the total headcount of participates that check-in at cabin 16 plus those that provide notifications to Rich Lambert for late arrival. The BOD has committed to provide the total # to White Swan at 12:30pm on Thursday, 10/11.

www.diffclub.com currently is NOT operational; technical support is trying to resolve the issue but we have not expected recovery time.

Here is the latest from the NPS:

Cape Lookout National Seashore to Close for Hurricane Michael Advisory #2 Issued 10/10/2018 @ 2pm Eastern Time

Harkers Island, NC - The National Weather Service is forecasting the effects of Hurricane Michael will impact Eastern North Carolina with tropical storm force winds and heavy rains, mid-day on Thursday through Friday morning. In anticipation of this weather event, Cape Lookout National Seashore will close the following facilities effective 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 11 until Noon, Friday, October 12.

During this park closure:

The Harkers Island Visitor Center, Beaufort Visitor Information Center, the Light Station
Visitor Center, the Great Island Cabin Camp Office (South Core) and the Keeper’s Quarters Museum (South Core) will be closed.

Long Point cabin camp (and office) is closed after Hurricane Florence. Reservations are canceled for the rest of the season. With damages to infrastructure and buildings, the park hopes to reopen Long Point Cabin Camp in Spring 2019.

Island Express Ferry Service, the park’s authorized passenger ferry concessionaire, will be closed, resuming operations to South Core and Shackleford Banks after the storm.

Cape Lookout Cabins and Camps Ferry Service (Davis, NC; (252) 729-9751) and Morris Marina (Atlantic, NC; (252) 225-4261) and will operate vehicle ferry service until the wind reaches 30 mph; they will resume operations after the winds fall under 30 mph. Davis Shore Ferry (Davis, NC; (252) 729-3474) has halted vehicle ferry service until after the storm has passed. If you have questions or need reservations please contact the ferry operators.

North Core, South Core, and Shackleford Banks remain open for visitor use, under a
voluntary evacuation order. Visitors should be aware that emergency response may be
significantly delayed by the storm (over-wash, extreme tides, rip tides, and high winds are expected).
