I've been to South Core/Great or Davis Island (whatever you choose to call it) several dozen times in my lifetime. Several years back I made a determined trip to Portsmouth. First & last. I couldn't believe how much worse the bugs were there. One of the park service employees told me that was the LEAST flying teeth they had encountered in years. One & done.
