Jeepjunkie, amen to that! We built us a slide-in camper just because of the issue with trying to get a cabin and also because our large group basally dissolved over the years to just my buddy and I. For people that don't have thousands of dollars to spend on buying a new or used slide-in camper, I recommend them to just build them one. The overall cost of us building a new camper that includes a back deck, generator, TV, A/C unit, microwave, other various things was a little less than $1,500.00 total. So if two people put their money together, they can have a shared camper for less than $1,000.00 each of their money. Depending on how often you go fishing, building your own slide-in camper pays for itself pretty quickly since you no longer have to pay money for a cabin. Also it actually saves money on gas since you don't have to drive back and forth to the cabins each day that your over there. The only regret we have is that we should have built it a lot sooner!
