i too believe that many of the breaches came from the sound side as the hurricane forced NE winds had a ton of water piled up in Pamlico Sound and it had to go somewhere. It appears that many of the ramps served as outlets for sound water into the ocean. May also explain why Davis Is(south core) has no similar cuts as Core Sound isnt nearly as large a body of water. Truly sad as this marks 2 yrs in a row that we wont be able to go to Portsmouth...and maybe longer than that by the looks of things. sheeew! Kari and Rick are in my thoughts for sure!
