We all have some method to catching fish. I say after many years that finding a nice hole in the outer bar at low tide and soaking baits for hours are the best way to get it done.
I personally have caught more drum from one spot on the north end than any other places in my years of fishing. I do not think you can get there now due to narrow beach or closures due to birds/lack of back road etc... But that is just me....
The group I go with have had some great catches on the south point also. Core Banks offers a wider range of fishing choices because of the south end and jetty. You can get out of a hard nor'east wind going south and hiding behind the dunes. On PI there is no place to hide. But I kinda like that also.
