Amen, saw the same thing a couple of weeks ago. Years ago everyone was respectful and courteous but not now. They have their destination in mind and screw anyone that gets in their way. I hate to blame the Hatteras crowd but the ones I noticed were driving the typical Hatteras rig. Tahoe/yukon with luggage rack on roof. My buddy was almost clipped at the water point by the lighthouse as 3 pickups flew past doing 20mph. I swear they almost caught air as they crossed the boardwalk.
