Once Again I am amazed at how slowly these fish grow and just how important it is to release the them as rapidly and as in as good of condition as possible. Please don't drop them !
In 19 years the one fish Beckwith caught at 40 inches grew only 1 Inch ! Imagine how old those 50 inch Drum must be! And if you can catch him once you very well may catch him again because they don't travel very far. Most of the fish recaptured last year had traveled less then 20 Miles, or to put it this way: the one you catch at Ophelia Inlet might be waiting for you at the point next year.
