Hey big guy! Sometimes Whiting hit hard. Sometimes they hit light and run in on you. Your question about sensitivity of rod when fishing for Whiting is a great question.
#1 Hold your rod, don't put it in a sand spike. #2 No slack in your line. #3 Braid line is more sensitive than mono. #4 Graphite rod is more sensitive than old fiberglass rods. #5 The big ones like sand fleas, the small ones like shrimp. #6 Enjoy every opportunity.
