Sir, check out the Abu Garcia 7000 C3. It’s a good reel for learning on, has good line capacity, a level wind and is manageable as far as backlashing. You can loosen it up as you learn and get decent distance out of it. If you want a tank of a reel with no level wind look at the Diawa Saltist. It is a more free casting but is not challenging and produces a ton of drag. I’ve landed several big rays and sharks on it while fishing for drum. Either way practice for a week or two before you go. Have fun while fishing and enjoy your time on the sand. Tight lines Sir.
