Bait casters definitely better for bottom fishing. IMHO DO NOT USE BRAID but go with a good quality MONO, you will throw backlashes with both but they are much easier to pick out with MONO than Braid.
I like all of Sufix's products as well as P-Line and Sunline.
Stay away from Berkley . Andy is good but stiff. you want line that is forgiving.
