I don't remember there being power to any of the old cabins but I sure remember the telegraph poles. On the beach up at new Drum Inlet and down the middle of Portsmouth and Lookout once upon a time. One night White Trash and I left the cape headed to Great Island camp and the beach was real flat and hard, we thought we might be getting close to GI when we came upon the telegraph poles and had to turn around and go back.
I'm sure you both remember the old "steel boat" on the beach up past the gun club. Both the phone poles and the steel boat marked some good fishing in their days.
Smitty was Sterling's "Motel" also known as the long building ? The long building was a 4 plex and if you had a rowdy bunch in one unit they kept the others awake all night. I stayed in that several times. Water tower outside and you had to put gas in a pump and fill the tower to have water in the rooms, seems like it supplied 3 cabins down that way?
