I know all about the shock leader set up that many if not most use including myself on my drum rod/ reel. Is there anybody using a slightly bigger reel that still cast decent with something around 25 lb mainline. Looking to try something different than the shock leader situation on a big drum rod. I've got a akios 656 which for years I've always found to be sort of undersized at times. Not looking to be armed for bear and overkill, but would like to try something that will hold 250+ of a good 20 to 25 lb line and get away from shock leader.
