I had thought of braid but only experience I've had with it is on some catfish rods.After throwing heavy lead and bait and tugging on some big fish, the 60 lb I had at the time wanted to dig into itself on the spool. Heard of ways to prevent this but never was able to completely fix the issue on those reels. Open to suggestions though because I like the braid idea.
