They keep the lighthouse bathrooms and water system on as long as possible. The only reason they shut that down is if the forecast shows multiple days hovering right around freezing. The water along the back road and the lighthouse bathrooms are on the same water system, this is a deep well, chlorine treated, potable water system. Sustained cold weather will wreak havoc on utilities if they don't winterize them. The cabin area and water is generally winterized by December 15th. The remainder is all weather dependent, but usually it is shut off and winterized before Christmas. They winterize before Christmas because most staff takes 2 weeks off and they wouldn't have anyone here to help shut-down.

The bathrooms down near the point and that water near the RV dump station are on a shallow well, non-potable. Same case though, they'll leave this on as long as possible. The water near the RV pad down there is on a pitcher pump and runs all year
