Comment:  Folks -- the Island is in pretty bad shape -- no dunes, all but a few of the cabins suffered major damage (even those that look good in the pictures!) It will take some time for the assessment and formulation of a plan.  Though we've received no official word, we feel sure that the park and AWFC will remain closed for the remainder of the season.

AWFC has stated that as soon as they can, they will get in touch with customers that are on the schedule, but must deal with the damage first.  Patience is needed right now to allow NPS and AWFC to determine what can be done and what is needed.

Very few homes in Davis did not get water damage.  The folks in Davis and Stacy are heavily involved in dealing with the damage, insurance issues, and ruined vehicles.

This is the first opportunity we've had to post anything to the site due to the damage, working on our own repairs, and not having computer access until now. 

If you've emailed us, we apologize for not responding individually as the sheer number of emails is overwhelming!  If you have a vehicle on the Island and don't see a picture of it here, we have no additional information concerning it's condition. (This is all we've got right now!)

We will post additional information and pictures as it becomes available to us.  In the meantime, keep good thoughts about Davis and the Island.... but be patient!
