There's a place in Beaufort called McIntyre's Seafood where I've been able to get fresh mullet when Ottis' and Tripp's didn't have any. Coming up from Morehead City, it's after the highway turns left at the light, a small white storefront on the right, next to a vacuum cleaner repair shop. Coming down from Davis, it's after the strip with grocery stores, strip malls etc. and it's on the left, before the highway turns right at the light. Phone no. is 252-728-2073. They're really nice folks.
