Dates should be good as any in the spring. Weather will be the main facor, if a strong Northeast wind is blowing, fishing will be slow.dYou can gon only on the past, mullet, red drum, puffers (toads) trout, and maybe a few other fish. It can be good in the spring but fall is the best fishing. Take bug spray and Sun lotion. You need spare equipment. The island is 26 Miles long. Best to go the back roads on high tide. It is about 7 miles to the north point, about 20 to the south point, The best fishing is usually on the points. Hope you have a good trip and good fishing.
