Dry ice is very expensive and hard to handle. You can get a 300 pound block of pretty ice for $30 in New Bern, Atlantic Ice house, 252/637-2143 820 N. Craven St. Also if you take closed cell foam ( the white foam some places use to wrap packages about 1/4 inch thick) and cut a piece to fit in the top of each cooler. Then put this on top of what ever you put in the cooler it will make your ice last a lot longer. As the ice and contents of the cooler go down so will the foam, this way you won't be cooling the top air in the cooler, only the contents below the foam. A piece of canvas will also work but not as well.
