He stated long stakes. I would echo that . You need stakes at least 2ft. long. I take old broom handles and saw them in half. Use a 45 degree angle cut and you have two stakes. I take a 6 foot table and have to stake it down too! That wind is bad if it gets much higher that 15-18 mph. Heavy rains sometimes cause you to stay in your tent. Nothing is as boring as staying in a 6ft by 6ft.by 5ft. tent. Small folding cots keep you off the wet ground. I have never had a tent that did not get water, mud, sand or something in the floor and i in turn, in your bed. When you leave to fish, get all your belongs off the floor and in something water proof. I put my food in hard plastic rubbermaid containers (coons). Keep your trash in the truck until you can get rid of it (coons). Keep bait in hard plastic coolers (coons). Take bug spray and use it! Take a tarp.
