I commend you for spending time with your wife but try putting the rod in her hand to see if she likes it too. The reason I ask you to try this is...I am the wife. I like hunting and fishing just as much as my husband. Wished you would have had better fishing while you were there though. Just remember...a bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work any day! We were in a slide-in camper on a dodge deisel pick-up. The storm rocked us as if we were in a sail boat though. The fish really only bit at night from high to low tides. I guess it because it was so hot during the day. Who knows what fish think. You can't catch them if you don't wet a hook.
