The sand flea digger (rake) works great. We've tried keeping them in dry sand, damp sand and no sand. The damp or dry sand causes me to get a lot of grit everywhere, especially on my reels. They keep just as well for me with no sand. I do place them in the shade or inside a cooler when in a boat. Keep your extras, blanch them and freeze them works great too. Then you will have fleas year round. A great bait for black and red drum, mullet and pompano!
