Fished Drum Inlet from Thursday of the tournament thru Sunday night. Big drum are starting to appear. All that fished the inlet were blessed with a strong Northeastern wind from Satarday night until at least when I left the island on Monday. Drum fishing really picked up with the wind. I was lucky enough to catch 3 drum on Sunday during the day with the biggest being 46 inches long and a 26.5 girth. Nice fish! I caught a smaller fish around 25 pounds or so also. I was fishing the inlet throwing cut bait straight at the building you can see on Portsmouth. I did see several nice drum that came from the ocean side this weekend also. Friend caught 3 drum all over 44 inches on Sunday night between 1 and 4 am fishing the exact same hole. I would fish the inlet on both sides of the ebb tides for big fish right now. Congratulations to all the tournament winners! Howard, it was great seeing you there again and you have a really neat family. Tell Crystal thanks for helping with the pics! Thanks to the Alger's crew again and a special thanks to Kyle for his help with my incident on the mainland Thursday morning!! I really appreciate all you did. Good luck to all the lucky ones getting ready to go down!
