For sea mullet, the best tasting fish in the ocean, I start out at the very first break, about 20 feet from where I am standing, with fresh,cut shrimp about the size of my fingernail, on # 6 or 8 longshank hooks. If no fish , I cast out between the 2 breaks and, again, if no fish, try to cast to the second break (furthest out). Try this for about 30 minutes and then move to the next hole if no luck. I also mark my holes at low tide with a gps and then come back to the best ones just before high tide.
