I agree that there sometimes are problems with people driving to close and to fast. Think that chumbucket is right--It's usually people who just don't know any better. Gotta remember-they probably think that they are supposed to act just like they do at Hatteras. I've had 'em almost run over me to. BUT--It works both ways. More often than not the best holes are on steep/cut-up sections of beach. There are times when I park and set on a hole all day. If there is room for traffic to pass between my truck and my rods, I'll make it a point to wave the traffic on through on the "low side". Makes it a lot easier on everybody. Campers need to realize that the top line of ruts up at the dunes IS the eqivalant of an interstate highway at CaLo. Put a tent 2 feet from the top ruts and you can expect to have trucks passing within 2 feet. At high tide that may be the only way to get through. Same goes for campers parking their trucks in the high lane. Just ain't cool. Same story--sometimes folks just don't know any better. Of all the great reasons to fish CaLo, the attitude of the people there has always been the best part. If you get a chance to "tactfully" talk to someone who may be a little out of line, they usually appreciate the advice. Been on both the "giving" and "recieving" end myself. On one of my first CaLo trips my kid left the dome light of my (wifes) Jeep on all day. A local/reguler guy stopped, and jumped started us. Tried to pay him but he simple stated that "down here", "everybody helps everybody". Good advice, 'cause once you get on the Island, ya need to consider everybody as a "pal". JMHO
