There are always at least a couple turtle nesting sections running south. It seems the one near the lighthouse is permanent, maybe for day hikers from Harkers Island.
I swear I remeber seeing a web page one time that showed the current restricted beach sections. Does anyone have a link to a page like that?
Last year there were also a couple areas of the beach that were impassible at high tide, the waves were lapping at the dunes.
Sorry to be so vauge.
