My Dad was over on Portsmouth back in the 60's. They ran over something and knocked a hole in the oil pan. They cut a 2 x 4 and stuck it in the oil pan. Used tooth picks to fill in the gaps with some rags. Ran car all week adding oil when the warning light came on. They had bought the car for $100.00 and sold it for $150.00 when they came off the island. 2 x 4 and tooth picks still in oil pan.
