I have always fished with a fish finder rig for drum but have spent some cold and wet February days experimenting tying different rigs for the upcoming trips. I tied an upton rig with a stationary 8 and 6 ounce egg weight to 80 lb mono. Never used an egg weight or this rig before in the surf. Any of you had any luck with this or a different rig. Do egg weights roll too much or is rolling a good thing.
