3 of us caught the 8 o'clock ferry over and went north to fish until cabins became available at 2. We caught 5 nice sea mullet and lots of what appeared to be ocean perch that we later used as cut bait, and several flounder close to 15 inches.Cutting the perch into small chunks with small hooks was better than shrimp. The best fish was a 20 inch gray trout before we headed to the ranger station to check in.After getting in the cabins we headed back north .Lots of under size gray trout. Small cut bait over shrimp was the ticket. Targeted drum until about 10 with no luck.Day 2 we again went north and caught several under size gray trout and two 14 inch trout and one 17 inch trout and a 24 inch blue. Day 3 we headed south and no luck at the point.Went sound side and Three Gals landed a 6 foot shark. Then we went to the spot where you have to get off for day trippers. It use to be a high bank and deep trough but no more.Using 2 sand fleas on a circle hook throwing toward the bar, first cast landed a pound and half pompano . Then sharks came in and we landed about five 3 -4 ft long and a big ray and 2-3 nice blues we used for cut bait.Stars were amazing on a dark first night. During the day 2 we saw what looked like a rain bow or some sort of dust devil or something during the day. Saw a beautiful pheasant rooster near the hunt camp. What a magical and beautiful place. It is not all about fishing as I get older. Headed back in September with 4 grand kids. and my son.Hope to target flounder. Can't wait .
