Many years ago I was fishing the inlet along with about twenty other anglers. People were fishing with everything imaginable....squid, fresh shrimp, mullet...to no avail. It was just dead. Or so it seemed. Up drives another pickup with a slide in. One guy gets out and starts catching fish immediately twenty yards from me. His secret, which he gladly divulged, was salted shrimp. He gave me a handful and the bite was on. I'm a believer.
