I have made 5 trips to Buxton-Avon since late April and fished Ramps 43 and 48. The first trip I caught 48 nice sea mullets and 4 puppy drum. The 2nd trip I caught 147 sea mullets and two puppy drum, the third trip I caught 125 sea mullets and 1 puppy drum. On May 31st trip I caught my personal best sea mullet...a 3 pounder. I also caught my personal best pompano weighing 4lb 4oz on 6/1. Then... on 6\2\23 I landed a 40lb 52 inch Cobia on one of my sea mullet rods a 9 ft Ugly stick using a small Diawa BG 30 reel spooled with 15 lb Sufix 832 braid. It took me 45 minutes to land him and almost got spooled on 3 different occasions.Totals from that trip were 75 sea mullets, 10 pompano and 1 cobia. I send her pics from every trip, along with pic's to LG Fields daughter, Kelly. I catch all of my fish with sand fleas.
