Cell service is out in the entire area. I wouldn't be surprised if Tide Runner and his neighbor's are not still cutting their way out through all the downed trees. There are only two ways out of his area and I know one is closed. Just hope the bridges along the other were not washed out.
My sister lives towards Asheville. Haven't heard from her since Friday morning when she texted me that they didn't have any damage.
The scale of the disaster there is incredible. Every road has downed trees and power lines, numerous bridges along county roads have washed out, mudslides in various areas. Infrastructure in the valleys has been destroyed. Think of all the phone/cable junction boxes and nodes that were destroyed by sitting underwater for two days.
