1977 dodge 20 ft camper,our problem seemed to be really deep soft sand-the fine powdery stuff that blows and fills in the ruts. Got stuck as we turned around. Been coming down 7 or 8 years now, the sand just fooled me, it looked solid, but it only had a half inch crust where maybe one wave had washed over it and it was all dry powder underneath.
