I had just typed a terribly lengthy response to you and my wife came in and wanted to see the thread, and guess what-I clicked on your confusing post to show her and lost it all. I will attempt to hit the important points here in this rewrite:
1. Self centered? I must have a problem communicating, because I dont understand what I typed that could imply that. It must be that you are saying that I care more about my fishing that the lives of our friends downeast.
2. I love that island and have been going down there every year for 20 years. I also love the locals and their lifestyle.
3. Kyle and Johnny and the rest of the AWFC folks are Downeasters. That means that they are not going to sit around and sulk because a storm blew out their screens, wet their carpets, and ruined some furniture. They will tear out the carpet, replace the screens, and put the furniture out on the road to be hauled off. Then they will go back to work.
4. Their work and thir livelihoods are all about fish, fishing, and fishermen. I am the latter. They will be doing all they can to get me back on that island this season, and I know it. My initial post had nothing to do with them, I just wanted to know why this couldnt be done quicker. To do so benefits me, you, and all of those folks who rely on the fishing industry. (Yes, recreational fishing is an industry, too.)
5. Capt Dick informed me that the problem may lie with bureaucrats and politicians (the Feds), and I replied that we should do what we can to circumvent them. Is there something self-centered about that?
6. Yes, I am from the north-North Carolina-born in Charlotte, educated in Chapel Hill, and lived 49.25 of 52 years in Charlotte, Raleigh, Wilmington, and New Bern. Whats that got to do with anything?
7. If flaming were allowed on this board, Id call you an idiot, but it is not, so I wont. Besides, name calling is childish.
