I use braid on nearly all my rods.(not for trolling in the boat), but in the surf you cant beat it. STRONG! Outlasts mono probably 4 or 5 to 1. Casts easily and long. No memory.It costs more, but if you look at how long it lasts, it works out to be cheaper in the long run. Every year I unwind and respool it backwards, so you get even wear. I use power pro, and have no complaints. And if we stuck with what worked for years and never changed we would all be using bamboo rods.... Fishmover
