From my experience:
For rod setups that i use bait on braid is great.
I don't like braid as much on lure rods. I have had issues with loops and knots when using a sporadic retrieve (plugs & spoons).
Last thought. I do keep one big bait rod for those times when my crew finds a hole full of BIG fish and everyone is fishing tight. This helps when crossing lines during battle.
