Yes, you can't put on too much salt, maybe a 1/2 cup per gallon ziplock; and next fall if you know you are going back in the spring, get some large Jumping mullet, filet / scale and salt then freeze them, they will be fine when the hit the water 6 months later. Last year we used some that was over a year old with great results! Afer it was in the water for 5 minutes it look like it was fresh that day. Same goes for bait shrimp, when doing bait shimp peel them first. Salt must hit the flesh to work.
