Made the trip on 11-6 to island, weather warm, lots of bugs. Then the wind began on friday late, by sat. we were thoroughly sandblasted. wind only worse and cooler on sunday when we left. Fishing was slow at best. Some folks had luck with pups at n. end on fri. w/rising tide (so I was told) but by sat. the pups were gone, and the grass was starting to arrive. Good bar and structure toward the south end from the low side of the light all the way to the point. Jetty was full of sand, really changed the strategy there, very shallow on the west side of the rocks. Bait was scarce, a few finger mullet in the net by walking thru the overwash on the spit and netting them in the hook. Things were slow, but the island always beats work.
