there is an area on the island where you get off the ferry designated for campers but you have to contact the national park service and pay $10 per week to leave it there. when you pay for the time you wish to leave it they will send you a sticker to place on the vehicle.you can call them at 252-728-2250 m-f 8.30-4.00 and they will send you all the info and application for the vehicle....hope this helps....gaterman
