Last year there was talk of Cobia being caught in Drum Inlet about right now. We fished for them last year there in the middle of May and caught nothing but one nice 36 drum. Ive heard that drum rigs work well but if you can keep your bait off the bottom it works better. We had a nice westerly wind one day and were using baloons from the surf to keep our bait off the bottom. The west wind would push it out there as far as you dared. We had one huge pull that snapped the line in seconds but I bet that was a big shark. Anyone caught any Cobia on the island this year readers?
