The only time I have used them was on a charter from Ockracoke last year. He used a Carolia Rig & hooked the eel up thru the bottom lip & between the eyes.He also hooked some just behind the head. He gave us a couple to surf fish with that we did not use on the boat. I hooked them the same way on a Drum Rig.The bad thing is that they will really get the leader tangled sometimes. I do not know what would happen if they were hooked in the tail. the reason i wanted to try them is that is all they talk about using up around Oregon Inlet & Hatteras.
