Keep en on ice to slow em' down a bit, use a rag to handle them. Easy that way. Thru the chin out the eye, I use 4-6 hook, 3' of 50# mono, tied to swivel. Weight is above that on a slider according to current. Catches the hell out of em'
Best bait I have found however is live croakers. It is 1 for 1 if you can catch them this time of year. Eels and fatback are backups.
